Autumn Garden Ideas

Autumn is officially here: the leaves are falling, it’s getting chillier outside and the nights are closing in. This means it’s time to start getting your outdoor space ready for the colder months!

Autumn is one of our favourite times of year here at Landscape World - we just love the colours and textures associated with the season.

We’re going to take you through our top autumnal garden tips to help you revitalise your outdoor space.

1. Embrace colour-changing plants and flowers

Hydrangeas flowers change colour depending on the acidity of the soil, something which you can do yourself using aluminium sulphate (available in most garden centres). From vibrant pinks to bright blues, there are plenty of warm autumnal colours in between for you to pick and choose.

Viburnum opulus (the guelder rose) is another plant that changes colour throughout the year. Its fresh, summer green leaves turn red in autumn, and are accompanied by bunches of bright red, fleshy fruits (great to look at, not to eat!).

2. Make it cosy

In our opinion, cosiness is a key element of autumn. Putting up fairy lights, adding throws and cushions to your outdoor seating and investing in a fire pit are just some simple yet effective ways to add homeliness to your garden

3. Purchase warm-toned paving
