Garden Trends 2020

2020 has finally arrived! In our opinion, each new year provides the perfect opportunity for a fresh start and new beginnings, so why not spruce up your garden this January?

We’ve assessed the top outdoor design trends that are going to take the garden world by storm this year. With a focus on texture and environmental sustainability, we’re sure you won’t be disappointed!

Mixed Materials and Textures

Mixing ‘n’ matching, building up textures and layering are going to be big in 2020. As well as looking great, this particular type of design helps create a cosy atmosphere that is perfect for the first few months of the year.

Pairing brick walls with timberstone log stepping stones will provide your garden with a rustic feel, as will adding wooden benches, contrasting cushions and decorative pebbles.

Vertical Gardening

A vertical garden is where plants and crops are grown on a wall rather than from the ground up. They’re sometimes referred to as ‘green walls’.

Designed to complement the growing urban green revolution, vertical gardens are trendy, modern and perfect for small spaces such as apartments and offices. Technically, you don’t even need a garden to create one!

If you want a wall that can easily hold planters and pots, you should check out Bradstone’s Madoc Walling.

Sustainability

With the threat of climate change, people are becoming more and more conscious about the planet. Understandably, environmentally-friendly gardens are on the rise and are set to be a main focus in 2020.

Many gardeners are choosing to grow their own crops and vegetables. Why? As well as saving you money, your produce will be packed full of nutrients, have zero air miles, contain no industrial pesticides and be deliciously fresh.

At Landscape World, we stock bulk bags of topsoil which are perfect for growing all kinds of plants, flowers and vegetables.
