Getting Your Garden Ready For Summer
If there’s ever a time to spruce up your garden, it has got to be summer! Rain or shine, it’s a must in the warmer months to have people over to enjoy your outdoor space with you. But, the effects of harsh winter weather usually wreak havoc on a garden, so it’s essential during this time of the year to get it looking its best and give it a bit of TLC - a little goes a long way!
So, here are Landscape World’s top tips for getting your garden ready for summer.
Clean The Patio
There’s nothing worse than finally making it outside to enjoy your outdoor space and realising that the patio has become dirty over time. A great way to instantly improve your garden is to give the paving a good scrub - or even better use a pressure washer to blast away the moss and scum.
Otherwise, if you want to refresh the patio area entirely, why not go for a different style of paving slab or even an ornate centerpiece? We’ve got a great selection of paving options for you.
Give Your Outdoor Furniture An Upgrade
After a few months in the snow, wind and rain over the winter, your garden furniture may be looking a little worse for wear. If you’re thinking about getting wooden furniture, for example, remember to prep with protector and wood stain to avoid any discolouration or weathering. If it’s too late for all of that, then you can always give that dining set a lick of paint and you’ll be good to go. Good as new!
Metal outdoor furniture can get a little rusty, so if it’s beyond repair we recommend biting the bullet and getting a new set. You’ll thank yourself when you’re dining al fresco on those sunny Saturday afternoons.
Tidy Up The Edges
Garden fence looking tired? Replacing your fencing or giving your existing fence a fresh coat of colour or preservative will smarten your space up immediately. If you’re feeling adventurous, choose a bold colour and paint any other wooden accents with the same colour to give your outdoor area a pop of colour and vibrance.
And Finally…Prepare For A Downpour!
Anyone living in the UK will understand just how unpredictable British weather can be. Don’t let that stop you, though. You can’t let your hard work improving your garden go to waste. Have an emergency stash of umbrellas in the shed or even invest in a gazebo to pop up if the forecast doesn’t quite go to plan! Gazebos are super easy to put up and make a great option for creating shade when the sun is out, too.
